The Ghost Light Kids
Get Hooked
a mystery - fantasy - adventure

"I read your book to my class last week (1st and 2nd grade) and they LOVED it - all day they kept asking me
when we'd be reading more of it. Nice work!"         -
Feedback from a teacher, January 2010

Back in 2005, my kids and I were looking for a new series of children's books to read together.  We had graduated from simple chapter books and weren't ready yet for anything too intense or scary.  It wasn't easy to find a story that my 9 year old son, my 6 year old daughter and I all could love.  The Ghost LIght Kids Get Hooked was my answer to this problem.  It is silly and exciting enough to keep the kids interested, and written in a style that parents will enjoy.

For many years, I have worked as a teacher at The Seattle Children's Theatre Drama School.  Every session, I take my students on a backstage tour.  They are always fascinated by secret passageways actors use to get to different parts of the stage and building, and by the maze of hallways, greenrooms, offices and dressing rooms the public never gets to see.  I always include in my tour the story of the ghost light -- a small post with a bulb on top which gets turned on at the end of the work day.  It is also known to keep the spirits of all the characters that ever walked that theater's stage at bay.  The ghost light prevents a theater from becoming haunted.

So what would happen if the ghost light suddenly went out?  The easy way to find out is to read my book!
